We’ve been a little busy this past month, but after bouncing between London and Norwich we’ve decided to take a quick break to say a huge Gamerbake thank you to everyone who’s donated to the cause in recent weeks.
That’s because together, we managed to raise a whopping £761.34 for Special Effect. A good chunk of that dollar, £200 to be exact, was donated at last weekend’s Norwich Gaming Festival bake sale, while the remaining £561.34 (never accuse us of being imprecise) was handed over by the generous Gamerbakers who attended our Let’s Get Retro bake off in May.
You can see all the pictures that event, which was won by Gamerbake regular Adam Russell and his outstanding Sonic-inspired masterpiece, over on our Facebook Page. And if feasting your eyes on tasty treats is your jam, there are also a few snaps from our Norwich bake sale floating around on Twitter.
Anyhow, we don’t want to spend too long dwelling on the past, because we’ve already got another event lined up. That’s right folks, as you might’ve already heard, Gamerbake is heading down to Brighton on July 11 for the very first time.
The theme for our seaside bake off is “My Favourite Game,” so whether you’re a Final Fantasy fanatic, crazy about Call of Duty, or loopy for The Last of Us, we want to see a bake that celebrates the game you love the most.
As always, tickets for the event are free, and can be picked up over on Eventbrite. We’ll be announcing our venue and judging panel very soon, so keep an eye on our Facebook page and Twitter feed for more tantalising details.
Oh, and before we hit the road, we wanted to say one last thank you to our sponsor DingIt.TV. They’re behind everything we’re doing this year, and deserve a huge round of applause for their commitment to cake and charity.
