It’s a yes from me: Gamerbake Manchester judges revealed

With less than a month to go until Gamerbake Manchester kicks up a culinary fuss at SpacePortX, we've decided to let you in on who'll be weighing up your (presumably) delicious bakes on October 9. Crowing a Gamerbake champion is no easy task, but, after months of searching, we've assembled a team worthy of a place in the cake-judging history books. Here's who you'll need to impress if you want to go home with that coveted Gamerbake apron. The first member of our enigmatic judging panel is Simon Smith. Simon has worked as a designer/producer at Sony, Codemasters, and Blitz Games and now runs his own dev studio, thumbfood, in Manchester. He recently co-founded Gameopolis, the network to promote & link the Greater Manchester video games industry. Twitter: @Vauncey Next up is former Gamasutra UK editor and current TinyBuild games guru, Mike Rose. Mike spends the majority of his time travelling the world in search of new third-party games to publish across PC, mobile and console...

Pixelbomb and Gamerbake join forces to bring cake to the masses

Two days after the sequel to the biggest gaming-themed baking event in the UK was unveiled, we're back to make another surprise announcement! As you've probably already deduced from out not-so-cryptic headline, the Gamerbake team - that's us! - will be joining forces with Manchester-based indie developer Pixelbomb studios to bring everybody's favourite bake off up north. One of Manchester's brightest and most ambitious indies, Pixelbomb was founded back in 2011 with one mission: make awesome games. Led by Phil Muwanga, Lee Blacklock and Steven DeSykes, the team is looking to challenge the perceptions of the industry by creating an indie game unlike any other. Driven by beautiful visuals, challenging mechanics, and adrenaline inducing experiences, Pixelbomb is ready to make its mark on the world, all while supporting the talented community of developers working out of the UK's Northern Powerhouse.  “We’re really chuffed to be supporting Gamerbake 2 in Manchester! Gamerbake heading to Manchester on October 9

Gamerbake, the critically-acclaimed gaming themed baking competition, is coming back for a second serving, and this time, its heading to Manchester. Of course, you already know what Gamerbake is - you wouldn't be reading this if you didn't - so lets cut this third person malarkey and get straight to the point. After the success of our first event and due to rabid, cake-fuelled demand, we're taking the Gamerbake train to Manchester for our long-awaited sequel, Gamerbake 2: The Re-Bakening, which will be taking place at SpacePortX on Friday, October 9. Naturally, our theme will be super sequels, so whether you're making Resident Evil 4 red velvet cake, Mass Effect 2 macaroons or Sonic and Tails shortbread, we want you to show sequel naysayers who's boss. Those who bring along a bake will be in with a chance of winning some prizes.  Our panel of judges (soon to be announced) will help pick out a winner of the event to receive some goodies, while everyone else who...
